RODNEY COLLINS - PROFILE
Rodney Collins has worked in the media since the mid 1960’s, including management posts at ATV, Pye Records, Billboard inc, BBC Radios 1 & 2, Radio Luxembourg and as Managing Director of several local radio stations in the British Isles. His media career began on BBC Radio 1 and Radio 2 and including acting as a producer for the Jimmy Young Show between 1971 and 1974.Later in the 1970s Rodney moved to Radio Luxembourg as News Editor and was responsible for helping set up their Atlantic 252 station. It was there he did the first European TV interview with the then Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Not wild about the European Community, there was one sticky moment when he had offered her a bottle of Perrier water to drink, only to be told she was not going to touch it as it was French! He also spent time as News Editor at Record Mirror, Associated Television, Pye Records and at the BBC as Publicity Officer at Radio One and Radio Two. In 2002 he hit the national headlines when he played a rare 12-minute long private recording by Frank Sinatra, then in his 70's, reading the "Soliloquy" from the musical "CAROUSEL". A great friend for several years was US star Gene Pitney. Rodney produced his last three CDs before Mr. Pitney died in 2006.

LOVE, HOPE AND GLORY is the title of Steve’s new 14 track album of original songs, all written, performed and produced by Steve. The album also features the brilliant keyboard player Paul Rogers who has worked with Mick Ronson, Simon Townshend (The Who), and Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin).
FURTHER RADIO PLAYLISTINGS FOR SHE’S IN LOVE Heard recently from the PRS (Performing Rights Society) about many more radio playlistings of the song She’s In Love. It recently featured on TMCentury HotDisc (HU200648) along with The Beatles, Pussycat Dolls, Razorlight etc. and is predicted to be a future hit. We were aware of downloads from iTunes from all over the world, including the U.S., Japan, Canada and Australia and now we have found out that it has been played on many more UK Stations including BBC stations Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Northampton, Suffolk, Essex and of course the Janice Forsyth Show on BBC Radio Scotland.
WORD GAMES ALBUM Persuaded by hugely respected music industry veteran Dr. Jeffrey Kruger (Founder of London’s famous Flamingo Club and Chairman of TKO Music Group) to collaborate on an album of cover songs Steve recorded and produced Word Games, a collection of 12 great songs written by proven writers and lyricists (Billy Myles, Ray Griff etc.) showing Steve’s unique talent for sensitive interpretation. Cover albums can be a difficult balance, an artist has to strike the appropriate respect for the original whilst stamping their own unique style on the final sound. Steve manages this beautifully and some of the tracks on the album have already achieved worldwide chartlistings (#5 in the UK Independent Hotdisc) and airplay.

LIVE ON DOWNTOWN RADIO
Steve was invited to the studios of Downtown Radio, Ireland's biggest independant radio station to be interviewed by top DJ Johnny Hero. Steve performed Love Is A Crazy Thing from his Album The Start Of The End Of The World live on the show. Mr Hero asked Steve if he would like to return to Northern Ireland one day and play some live dates. Maybe Steve could travel over with guitar in hand and play some live dates.

THE CAVERN CLUB Liverpool - Steve was invited to appear at this the most famous club in the world. He played solo with acoustic guitar on a bill with three other acts performing a 40 minute spot of his own songs plus a version of Jealous Guy as a tribute to John Lennon on the 25th anniversary of the ex-Beatle's death.
SAVED BY RAIN The song was inspired by Steve's stormy ocean voyage across the Irish sea to Belfast for a live interview and performance during which his dread of being shipwrecked was calmed by the sight of heavy rain on deck.. SAVED BY RAIN was playlisted for 6 weeks on Downtown Radio, Northern Ireland's biggest independent station and was also played on 3WBC Radio in Victoria, Australia and on Yorkshire's Radio VikingFM.
ROCKIN UP THE WORLD attracted great interest from many stations and reached #5 in the Irish charts.
